DOG OBEDIENCE ADVICE & TIPS

DOG OBEDIENCE ADVICE & TIPS

There are a few dog training do's & don'ts!
here are the top 3 dog obedience tips:

1. Your dog or puppy will always want your attention & basically your dog will do anything to get it. So top tip no 1, give your dog attention when he/she does something right & you should ignore any behaviour that is wrong.

2. Be consistent. Always use the same commands for desired actions. If you keep chopping & changing the commands then how is your poor dog supposed to know what you expect him/her to do?

3. Reward or Punish immediately. Any praise or penalty that is dished should be made immediately. If this is done a few minutes later, it will have absolutely no effect on the dog - your dog will have no idea what it is being praised or punished for.

Three basic tips to help you out - however, I would suggest that you invest in a good dog training guide such as SitStayFetch which is the web's no 1 dog training program or source the services of a professional dog trainer in your area.

Thanks for reading!

I totally agree with your tip about being consistent. I have to keep reminding my daughters to be consistent with our young dog as this seems to be one of the hardest things for them to remember. We did take our dog for training when she was just a few months old and my daughters were involved in the training which has helped alot as we go along as a dog owning family.

If you want your dog to listen to you it is very necessary to have an effective communication such as:

1. Sit: In the training session you should make a dog to sit when you commanded is very important.
2. Stay: After teaching the word "Sit", you should teach him stay. If he is running away from you, Stay command will helps to take a control on your dog.
3. No: The word No also have equal importance. If the dog understands this word, then dog will come to know immediately what to do or not.

Yes, Mr.Carl actually when we get our dog we make the training as a biggest issue & worry about it. And the result gets that the training goes very hard, your dog do not listen to your basic things. Because we are totally responsible for the mental preparation of the dog. Just think, how we deal with our child? when its an infant we aware that the baby dont understand our language. But then only we communicate in our mothertounge. If this same common sense thing applies with our newly arrived pup. Results gets thats wonderfull.
Keep in touch. Thanks.

Dox, my pit bull, has started his training last week and he already learned new tricks. My dog trainer suggested that every time we're practicing new tricks, I should always bring dog treats with me. I love pampering my Dox and whenever he does a good trick, the more treats he gets. With that I make sure that I choose a nutritious dog treats for him.

Thank you so much for the great dog training tips. I have been trying to train my dog for a few weeks and nothing is working. I really don't want to send my dog to a professional training school if I can avoid it. I would much rather train him at home. I think that your tips will really help me out a lot. I have not heard of some of these tips and I am really exited to try them out! Thanks again!

It might sound odd, but I bought obedience training for aggressive dogs to my poodle. It is not a big dog surely, but still she was too jealous over kids and certainly could hurt their little fingers. Now she is quietly sleeping in her bed when my great children are visiting.
